The bait is perfectly symmetrical so it is passive as if travels through the air and water, and allows currents to pass by without it spinning and spiraling the bait. It will be weighted to help the bottom side stay 

down and the top side stays up. You can retrieve is slow or fast, it won’t spiral and spin as much as an asymmetrical bait, so your leader comes up nice and straight at the end of each retrieve. 

SUPER LONG CASTING

Due to the symmetrical, elongated prolate spheroid shape, this bait is as passive as it can possibly be when traveling through the air and water. That means it will cast further than any other bait, and also won’t get pushed and spun around in the current of breaking waves as much as a traditional perch grub.

WIRE HOOK THROUGH HARD PLASTIC DESIGN 

Despite the original shape of this bait, it is made with the same structure as any plastic Jerkbait. It uniquely features a wire hook-through design for maximum strength, and a 2X strength hook. The Hard Candy can handle the heat! Perfect for Mondo 16”+ Surfperch, and ready for when the Striped Bass bites! It also features an internal weight system so the bait behaves optimally when flying through the air, or swimming through the water at any speed. 

SUSPENDING ACTION 

Just like real fish food, be it cut or live bait, the Battlestar Carolina Hard Candy Perch Bait is designed to suspend in saltwater. It suspends in a horizontal position. This suspending action mimics real food and triggers bites. 

WOBBLING / DARTING ACTION 

When the Hard Candy perch bait is retrieved through the water, it produces a tight wobbling/darting action very similar to a sand crab drifting down shore in the back wash of a large wave. Due to the fact that water is 800 times more dense than air, this effect does not result when casting. It cuts through the air nice and straight for super long casting, and expresses an erratic life like action when retrieved through the water or paused against heavy current. 

REPLACEMENT HOOKS

The Battlestar Tackle HARD CANDY perch Bait comes with four size #2, 2X strength replacement hooks, so you can remove the used hook and install a new hook prior to each fishing session. Always fish with brand new razor sharp hooks! Battlestar Tackle also offers packs of replacement hooks.
